Todd joined the Agricultural Society in 2019 and brought a wealth of event planning and execution to the management of the Fair & Fairgrounds. He has been a resident of York Region for over 30 years. Todd has spent most of his career in the Arts and Entertainment Industry, working in Talent Management for film, television and live theatre. He also served as the Theatre Manager of the Vaughan City Playhouse and recently sat on the board of the Markham Arts Council. Todd is currently learning how to drive a skid steer but hopes to one day move up to the Tractor!
Joining the staff in 2002, Mick is responsible for the operation and upkeep of the Fairgrounds and assets of the Agricultural Society. Wearing many different hats, Mick assists with the Fair set-up and teardown. Outside of “fair time” Mick oversees the changing needs of the property and manages the property staff.
Val is the main contact for event rentals at the Markham Fairgrounds. She is a master negotiator and ensures that tenants are well taken care of. From helping to choose the right space for your event to setting you up with preferred/recommended service providers, Val ensures that bylaws are met and will help with permits and approvals for your event. She is our ‘go-to’ for just about anything at the grounds.
Mike joined the staff in 2019. Mike is no stranger to the grounds having worked during fair time for a number of years. Mike is a qualified heavy equipment operator who has earned the title “Kid Steer”.
