Media Pass Policy

All requests for fair grounds access must be made 3-5 business days in advance.

Markham Fair will issue a complimentary fair grounds admission ticket to any reporter or photographer working on assignment (all working media visits are escorted). In addition, the fair grounds will issue four complimentary tickets to the full-time media personnel listed below who want to visit the fair grounds for leisure during the 4 days of the fair. These passes are limited to four per person for one visit during the 4 days of the fair. Complimentary passes will not be issued for Cultural Festivals, concerts or other special events that require a paid admission ticket. Only news department employees are eligible for these passes.

Newspapers – Senior Executives, Publisher, Full-Time Reporters, Assignment Editors, Editors, and Photographers.

Radio Stations – Senior Executives, Program Director, News Reporters, News Director, Program Directors, Assignment Editors, Producers, and Full-Time On-Air Personnel.

Television Stations – Senior Executives, News Reporters, Key Producers, News Director, Assistant News Director, Full-Time On-Air Personnel, Program Director, and Assignment Editors.

To apply for the Media Complimentary tickets, please fax in a letter on letterhead to 905- 640-8458. In the letter, please state the date you would like to visit the Fair grounds, your name, and job title. We will contact you to confirm your visit.** Once your visit is confirmed, media should bring photo identification and a business card on the day of their visit to the Main office at the East Gate entrance to receive the complimentary tickets.

** Please note we will not accept last minute requests or requests made for the weekend after noon on Friday.
